SKUs
The Products tab in your Truemed Dashboard is where you upload your product catalog, view eligibility status for each item, and keep your SKU list current. Truemed uses your SKU as the primary identifier to verify eligibility at checkout, so keeping this list up to date is the single most important thing you can do to make sure customers see accurate eligibility on your store.
SKU management in the Truemed Dashboard is available for Shopify and API integrations.
Why SKU Uploads Matter
When a customer attempts to check out with a product that hasn’t been categorized, it defaults to ineligible until our compliance team has had a chance to review it. Keeping your product list current ensures that customers don’t run into a frustrating experience where a product that may qualify for HSA/FSA doesn’t show that option at checkout.
When to Upload Your SKUs
Upload your product list:
- On a regular cadence (monthly or quarterly)
- Any time you launch new products
- If a customer reports a product showing as ineligible at checkout
Preparing Your Product List
Shopify Merchants
- Log in to your Shopify dashboard
- Click the Products tab
- In the upper right, click Export
- Select All Products and Plain CSV File
- Click Export Products
Make sure all product variants have a Variant SKU assigned before exporting. Items missing a SKU will be skipped on upload.
Non-Shopify Merchants
Export your product catalog in CSV format with the following fields:
Uploading to the Truemed Dashboard
- Go to app.truemed.com and log in
- Click the Products tab in the navigation
- Click Upload CSV to upload your file, or use Add Product to add SKUs individually
- Each product appears in your SKU table with a status label

Both Owners and Staff can upload, view, and download SKU data.

Can I upload my products in a different format? Please follow the CSV instructions above. We rely on a consistent format to accurately categorize your products.
Why do I need to send my full product list? Our compliance team needs your full catalog to categorize eligible and ineligible items, including branded merchandise.
Why is my new product showing as ineligible at checkout? Any new product must be reviewed by Truemed’s compliance team before it can be marked eligible. Until then, it defaults to ineligible.
Can I manually tag products as HSA/FSA eligible in Shopify? No. Eligibility must be verified and assigned by Truemed’s compliance team.
