Welcome to the Truemed family. This guide covers everything you need to know before getting started so your launch goes smoothly.
Truemed partners with merchants to enable qualified customers to use their HSA/FSA funds on eligible health and wellness products. We connect customers with licensed healthcare providers who evaluate eligibility and issue Letters of Medical Necessity (LMNs) to qualifying individuals.
Because HSA/FSA accounts use pre-tax dollars, your customers can save an average of 30% on eligible purchases. That means more buying power, less price sensitivity, and stronger retention.
HSA/FSA tax savings vary. Learn more at truemed.com/disclosures.

What is an LMN? A Letter of Medical Necessity is a document from a licensed provider explaining why a product is medically necessary. It’s required to use HSA/FSA funds on products that aren’t automatically IRS-eligible.
Do customers need a doctor’s prescription? No. Truemed’s network of licensed providers handles the evaluation and LMN issuance.
Does the customer’s checkout email need to match their HSA/FSA account? No, but the customer’s name should match across the order, their Truemed health survey, and their HSA/FSA account.
Can customers use a regular credit card and get reimbursed later? Yes. Customers can select the Truemed payment option and enter a non-HSA/FSA card. They’ll receive reimbursement instructions along with their LMN.
How does Truemed handle sales tax? Sales tax is still charged and is eligible to be paid by HSA/FSA funds.
